MISSION STATEMENT

CHAIRMANS MESSAGE

As chairman of the Santa Barbara County Republican Party, I welcome you to our website, which gives useful information about GOP activities in the county with strong emphasis on local issues, happenings and organizations.

If you want to support and participate in GOP efforts to save California from overbearing government intrusion into your personal affairs, we hope you will help yourself and us by volunteering and/or contributing to our County Republican Party.

Voters recently rejected constructive initiatives to restore political power to the people.  The people, while acknowledging that California government is broken, indicated that they are not ready to vote for corrective measures. They want the governor and legislature to work together one more time to improve government. Governor Schwarzenegger, since taking office, has tried hard to reach out to the legislature but has mostly been rebuffed. He will to try again but chances of success are poor. The Democrat legislature is strongly indebted to special interests such as government employee labor unions, trial lawyers, the ACLU and others, and are committed to do their bidding rather than stand up for the peoples’ interests as they are obligated to do. People beholden to government employee unions who represent the government in negotiations with those very unions cannot represent the peoples’ interest.

The Santa Barbara Republican Party is dedicated to seeing that reforms are made to restore sound policies to our state and local governments and electing people who will carry them out. To this end, we have offices in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, a full time Executive Director and committees and clubs totaling over 500 members. Our goal is to increase GOP participation in national, state and especially, local affairs. We are the only GOP organization dealing comprehensively with local affairs. Our budget has  doubled in an effort to return Reagan’s County to a Republican registration majority.

With your help we can make this vision a reality. Please let us know today if you are able to add to our financial or volunteer effort. Every vote counts. Every volunteer and contribution can make a difference.
